Went out today from 2:30-4:45 and got 15 real nice keepers in 3 feet of water. Had to weed out the dinks, but overall, today was one of the better days i have had so far this year.

I was fishing the outside of the bay today (6 to 8 FOW) and pretty much got my a** handed to me... 2 1/2 hours and no bites....lost the hole scooper, forgot my chair and the shanty anchor...on the one freaking day that I needed it!!!! Then the ram pulls a no start (battery) in the home deblow parking lot.....One of those days  Beats work!
Gonna hit cotten in the AM...I'm a glutton for punishment
Oh yeah the visability sucked too...about 2' or less.... :16suspect

I got out there real early....ended up checking all over the bay for clearer water and fish with no luck....until I figured I'd try something different. About 10 am I went out in front of buds and went way inside of everyone else. I was about 300 ft from their docks. The water was cleaner, and fish hit immediately. It was nonstop perch for about 3 hours, with bigger minnows resulting in bigger fish. I ran out of minnows, got some more, but then the wind started blowing pretty heavy. The water got clouded and things slowed down. The blizzard came and my line broke trying to get a big one in. The side of my shanty got blown into the heater and got a hole burnt in it...I ended up keeping 30 out of ????? I lost about 6 nice ones near the hole. Lets hope the water clears up again before the ice goes away....
Where was it that you were at, I been over at ginos no luck what so ever.

when i went out again yesterday, i went way to the right of buds, fished early in the morning and came back with 10 jumbos. It seemed i would pull up 30 dinks, then a jumbo, no inbetween fish.
Im over at metro park, thats a way to long way, lol. I got one of these maps from gibraltars, showing me fishing spots and water lvls n stuff, sounds pretty cool towards fair haven, might go there or metro park, ill keep u updated on metros performance, that or ill go down with my uncle at brandenburg. thanks for the greeting ficious.

I have been a long time reader of this site, but this is the first post. I was fishing out of Fairhaven on Sat afternoon/evening and watched this bozo http://www.icefishingmichigan.com/forum/images/smilies/rant.gif
pack up his shanty and gear and promptly leave 2 empty propane tanks, a six pack of cans and a bag of trash on the ice. I did pick this s**t up on my way back in. This is the third or fourth time this season I have seen this happen. Is it so hard to take your trash back when you leave? Sorry if this post makes somebody angry, but leaving your trash on the ice makes me angry. Where do you think that crap goes? Please be responsible and take your trash with you!!!
There is enough junk in the lake already we don't need to add to it!!! Thanks

:yeahthat: :yeahthat: Maybe the police or DNR could deputize some of us and we could write them up. I would do it for free. I don't like the trash and pick some up also.

speaking of debris....whats gonna happen with that orange plastic fencing the DNR put around the hole where the truck fell through? Its frozen way into the ice....theres no way of cutting it out. Is it gonna just float away with the ice and end up on the bottom of the lake somewhere? Seems to me the DNR ought to be responsible for what happens to it since they put it there.....or was it the township authorities that put it there?
