W/out a boat, give me the ice as long as possible...Open water lasts 8-9 months anyway :D

Good for what? I want to launch. Have you ever tried to cast a flyrod through a hole in the ice????
You guys have fun, and be careful out there. Last weeks warm temps and high winds wreaked havoc on the ice.

Guess your gonna have to hold your pants on for awhile yet. First spring I had my boat, I launched from Fair Haven on March 6th. Didn't catch anything but got it out. Matter of fact a huge ice flow was still out about 3/4 mile out.
In March 2000 I came flying around Huron Pointe on my way to it's south west shore from Harley. As soon as I got close enough to see there were people on the little ice shelf left in front of Ginos, I throttled down so my wake wouldn't break up their ice from even a mile away. One of us was pushing the season.......

We who walk upon the pond refuse to relinquish it to those who ride upon the waves (at least for two or three more weekends, ok?).

If you travel north to extend the season april is the norm :)

Uh, No.
Perish the thought.
I'd have to go stand in a river elbow to elbow with a thousand others fishing for those "revered" non-indigenous fish.:help: :yikes:
Is being a high strung pencil necked weenie contagious?;) :evilsmile

Was at SANG today and some fool figured there was plenty of ice. He drove his S-10 from the launch almost out to the barracks. There was actually a good 8-10 inches everywhere, but not enough for me to drive my car out there.
