looks like our little meltdown is over for a few days. thats good news cause i can walk a lot easier on less snow. question is : how long is the ice gonna hold up in the popular spots like sang, gino's metro and brandenburg / any ice reports or answers would be helpful.

We didn't get much rain down here so hopefully the run off will freeze up quick. The lake was just starting to get fishable again.

The long term forcast is for some cold weather the next 15 days.... I've got the 10th to the 14th off and figure it will be locked up tight again after a couple nights of 10 degree weather. The winds are whats killer on the pond.

Way it's going now, we'll be fishing into april!!! Haven't deceided if that is a good thing or a bad one!!

We Checked 2 lakes today in SW Mich and both had open water so I think our ice is done for. The lakes were Ruppert in Kalamazoo and Clear lake near Gobles. Also fished the Allegan damn for about 3 hours and only saw 1 small steelie caught.

The past few days, we've been fishing a small inland lake. Sat evening, the snow on top was getting a little slushy. Sunday afternoon, my boots were in 5" of water on top of the ice in our spot from the previous day. I'm thinking it's all going to be solid in a few.....

John if this weather keeps up I just know you will be secretly itching to get that bucket out and venture onto the ice. :p

Yeah, I ice fished one time this winter for 2 hours and was skunked on keepers. I’m not saying that I’m only in it for the fish but when I’m sitting there on a bucket freezing, I need more than just being out to keep my interest! :p Bring on the soft water! I need to try out my new fishfinder and transducer. I think it is so powerful, it will cook the fish as I'm reeling them in! :D

I'm ready for one last run of hard water fishing. Fish this week and weekend then pull the shanty off next week sometime. I just want to catch one more through the ice, just one more....:) ;)
