For those of us who enjoy hunting and shooting, getting kids involved is important. In fact, it's our way of passing on the tradition. But the folks at the Bentley school system have taken it even a step further.

i would love to get a skeet team at my highschool i know several kids that do shoot skeet here.
any info on how i as a junior now senior next year could get a sport like this to start up at the Grand haven High school would be appreciated. even if i would not be around still to shoot in it.

There is a skeet shooting club at my highschool (Rockford High School). Its the first year i am aware they have had it. Pretty good turnout.

Ya that would be sweet to have a skeet shooting team. We have jrotc in my school and we had a markmanship team. I was the commander(got 1st and 2nd place in 2 comps. under my command.) but they stopped it becuase one school used .22's and some kid got killed and know instead of it being a cadet drivin team(like all of rotc) the SAI(senor Army Instructor) needs to get re-certified.

just, there is a "youth" league at the Seaway Gun Club in Muskegon..... not school sponsored but still, it might be worth checking into!

I Would like to have a skeet shooting team at my school (Port Huron High) But I'd rather go out and shoot up the Big Ol' Honkers and quackers with my buddies... :lol: I know a few guys at my school that shoot skeet all the time... the rest deer hunt .... its kinda hard to find a duck hunter die hard around my school......

As far as i know,Duck-Hunter, I, and one other kid are the only ones who duck hunt in our school.... i miss duck season:( no more staying up all night and leaveing at 5am to get to the lake by 6 and sit in the blind all day eatin peanuts shootin birds. But I'm sure that if we could get the school to let us we could get a nice sized clay shooting team.
