i have a 16 ft smoker craft magnum with a 40 hp suzuki and i was hooking up my fish finder to it today and i was in the back of the boat and the whole boat lifted up and landed on my outboard and now the trim doesnt seem to be working
:bash:
and the motor is up as far as it can go i was wondering if i screwed it up or is it just stuck cuz the battery hook up is fine cuz it lights up when i flip the switch but it doesnt move or make any noise. Please help

Don't know if this will help or not. I hit a stump going really slow (5mph) and pushed the tail up to the trailer position, the trim wouldn't push the tail down. I had to head it to the launch, when I did and gave it throttle and the force of the prop pushed the tail into down position. It has worked fine every since and that was 10 years ago atleast. This was with a 140hp mercruiser. If you have a ratchet strap or light duty come-along you may be able to pull it down, but do it gently. It may just have an air bubble in it. Good Luck!

ok thanks 7 iron i will try that, i also removed the side cover that runs right by the console where all the main wires that run to the outboard are located and i had to feed the transducer and battery hookup wires threw that and had to remove the trim switches which where screwed into the side cover when i screwed them back in after i got that done i fliped the switch and it just lighted up and nothing happened so maybe it could have something to do with that im not sure
