did a little fishing yesterday and today it was great to out again ended up 3 for 5 yesterday and 0 for 2 this am before I left......I was fishing with my sons fly rod and reel. and it locked up when it got into the backing.......still it was a great time.....got to get down into the holes and get em.....saw just a handfull of ppl out walked down from the dam about 2 miles back and then back up saw some fresh ones making redds wish I had a dig cam to post some pics...14 hrs on the river yesterday and 3 this am....I am sore .......nap time

I was fishing with my sons fly rod and reel. and it locked up when it got into the backing.......
I've had this happen. If the backing isn't put by machine it must be put on the arbor very tight. If loose, when the fish hits and puts a stretch into the backing it will dig into the loose backing and snag up. It's a hard lesson to learn. Fortunately I learned it during salmon season and wasn't as disappointed as I would have been during the steelhead season.

no biggie was more of a scouting trip....and a test for the reel as my son is 10 and has been to PA to the creeks with me several times this fall and winter, have landed well I am not going to say how many for the year so far .....it was nice just getting out on the "home waters" and a great way to begin the season on the home waters.......now to get the drift boat ready

I hear you. I have so much crap piled in the garage in front of the boat I couldn't get it out right now. I've been waiting for the weather to break and it finally his 48 today. Too bad I was napping on the couch when that happened.:gaga:
