meijer put a bunch of gear on clearance! From reels to lures to lines, there's a lot!
Add to that...there is a coupon floating around most of the stores for an additional 25 percent off clearance items!
:tdo12:
I myself picked up two new Mitchell E20 reels (great for the kids poles), a dozen rapalas and 6 spools of line for less than a c-note.
happy hunting!

um! be careful. if you like to get "a deal" on gear. i bought about 25 producers from meijers because they were on clearacne. well, cabelas has them .80 cents cheaper. ;) i took the cabelas ad the next time i was at meijer and they would not honor it, saying that maybe the colors could be different or something. i am taking them back.

Meijer is pretty shifty. I have several problems with them not honoring sales that are going on at other meijer stores. Bottom line is they suck and mislead consumers on their honoring others stores sale prices. I shop there as little as possible.

wow, such negativity toward a Michigan born company that has always been so good to the communities it survives with.

Here's a tip:
they will only honor a competitors price if it is:
1)a sale price
2)a dollar amount off (not a percentage or buy one get one)
3)a model # or manufacturer is in the description, so the identical item can be verified

Its that simple, no hokiness or dishonesty. If you walked into my store while I was in charge and showed me the above in an ad...I'd have no problem giving you the merchandise at the price you wanted. In fact, if I knew you'd come back, I'd go out of my way to make you happy.
Meijer has hit some tough times, and we do have some stores and managers that think by being a Wally clone we'll compete and survive. I for one remember that the reason my sales went up was because my customers became my friends, knew me by name and looked for me when they came in.
If you have a complaint about your store...please do ME a favor and take it to corporate levels, loudly and often...because they won't listen to us anymore!
And for you Wal-Mart shoppers....shame on you....you have no idea what that 5 cents you saved on a can of chicken noodle soup is doing to my employees.

Wal-Mart deals - for a "knock-around trunk stash" set up, try beating a Shimano 'Spirex' reel - $16.00, teamed up with a Berkley "Cherrywood" spinning rod - $12.00. $28.00 for the outfit, not bad at all !!! I think they had the rods mis-marked though, seems that I saw a sign they were supposed to be $18.00, still not a bad price. :D

The Meijers in Muskegon yesterday had 4-5 of those Nimrod drill adapters for 11.95 on clear-out rack.

Sorry you feel that way about walmart. I know I save half on my grocery bill by shopping there. Can't help but go where its cheapest. But how they're popping up everywhere is weird.

Retail is a tough business and becomes dod eat dog. :bash:

I agree with Jimmer, Meijer's ad matching policy is very clear. They intend to match their competition's ad retail for the exact same item. Not every ad that is brought in is "local" competition or the exact item.

I know because I have been on the in side for a long time.

Be good to meijer, cause they send me a pension check each month ;)
