Sat with Stringer today and I got downright embarassed! He was catching bluegills and rocks and the occasional dink, meanwhile I had two rockbass try to commit suicide on my line. That's it.
2 lb Vanish Ed. I went straight to Gander Mountain and bought the last roll of 2 lb Vanish they had. But I have a question. Is there a difference between regular 2 lb and Vanish 2 lb leader? The salesman (Don) said it's all the same stuff. I didn't see any little packages of leader material except in the fly section and that looked to be different stuff.
Anybody out there that can shed some light on this old student?

Disco Don is a true salesman. Yes there is a differants or that would be false advertisement, the tencil strenght is stronger on the leader material. Who knows why I catch when the others do nada maybe it's practice I just fish no secrets. Had a great day fishin with ya Mike I'll have you pullin slabs in no time. I may go back tomorrow not sure if Campau is safe, I'm not into a wet fanny.

Mike you would have had a blast today. Patti got her limit and I got mine all nice sunnies with a few rocks to keep things busy. We fished in a differant area than yesterday. Ed I see you changed your signature, the lilacs are far from bloom

The way it slushed up today I don't know if we'll get another chance to go walking anywhere we want for the rest of this season.
Fished the marina next to Gino's today. Dink City. Although something BIG grabbed my minnow and broke off. Since I had only been catching dinks all morning I had my $5 special out, no reel, no drag, no fish. I would have at least liked to have seen it. I'm guessing small pike.

Oh yeah! I almost forgot. Went back to "line-watching" and did better than Saturday. I used to fish yellow line exclusively but when all these new lines came out I had to try them all. Now I have to retrain myself. Caught most of my fish today watching the angle of the line.

I had one of those "slap yourself in the forehead" moments Saturday evening.
I used to talk about line-watching and yellow line and no bobber, etc., etc., so what did I do? None of the things that used to be second nature to me years ago. I think I'm getting varicose veins of the brains.

Next tip take the line and twist and little loop in it, when the loop goes staight fish on. Tie the floural on with a blood knot leave the tag end for a fly, Oh you's did'nt see the fly I had on  75% of my fish came on the fly.

I'm going to wait until thursday, first day of the warm front. The rest of the week looks good wright thru the weekend nice warm up stable weather could get them SLABS hunry. If you's like gills and cals this weekend may be a good time to find them. :p were almost at 12 and 12 the new weeds are starting to pop up. Mike maybe we should re-tread this with what up with GILLS.

Where will you be heading for the Crappies? I've tried a few times recently with NO success. I'd just assume catch big crappies more than perch. Where will they be at ice out? Moved here this year, so I'm a little new. I'll report any of my success. Fishing everyday.
Thanks.
