Wulp it still sucks out there! What else is new right?

Yesterday I started off in the Gino's area and caught some dinks nothing happening there. Moved to Beacons Cove and it only produced a couple of dinks and lost something big after it started pulling line out and finally broke. Dang toothy critters!. Finished in the shores coast guard area with not even a nibble there.

Today Fisheater, my son Joe, and I fished straight out from Beacons Cove to the pressure crack, as luck would have it even the dinks were out there. The ice is still over a foot thick and lots of snow on top. Tough for walking but not for riding... . Whats even worse is that between the 2 of us muddpuppie kings not one of those was produced either....

The fog was very thick out there today as well and you definitly needed a compass or gps out there. For those of you who do not know the lake is no longer frozen all the way across and not locked up. SO WATCH THE WINDS. I dont want to hear of anyone going trolling out there be safe.

Not sure where I will go for my next punishment on Sunday....:yikes:

well shadow I only ended up with 20 nice ones- 25 including 5-- 8" perch. Thats bad for a whole day fishing. but on the good side, I'm cleaning perch Sunday :) . I made 20 moves, but just couldn 't find a school of jumbos . the 20 I kept were nice from 10 to 11 inch poss. one or 2 pushed 12" but no true HOGS (a hand full of 13 inch perch). Nice day out there fishing in the fog. I was off of bell mar harbor in 7 foot of water. slips worked best. Great day I wouldn't trade it . I saw one Walleye and 2 bass or one bass twice? water was almost clear in 8 foot of water over 4" of ice far out, but in close over 12" of ice the water was dark in 8 foot of water and I couldn't see the bottom . 1/2 the nice fish came in close. 100 yrds from shore. Lots of dinks in close also.

Thanks for the info Stringer. If we get many more blows like today the ice will be gone before it hits 34*.

Fished Campau Bay with a friend from 3:45 - 6:45 Saturday afternoon. I didn't even get a bite. My friend caught one 12" perch on a minnow, lost a second perch about the same size at the top of the hole, and also caught a 16" mudpuppy. Looks like we still may have a couple more weekends before the ice gets unsafe to fish. Will try again next weekend. What can I say, I'm a die-hard ice fisherman. Good luck and be safe.
