Six of us fished Tuesday and Wednesday and brought home just over 500 perch. Cooks Bay in 20 ft of water out in front of Keswick. Best lures were small jiggin raps, small spoon and teardrops in chartrues, pearls and glows. Spikes and minnows for bait, but the minnows caught bigger fish also Berkley Power Craws and Nymphs did well. All the perch were between 8 and 12 in. with a couple around 13.

Those fish looked huge on the camera after looking at Higgins Lake perch.

Heading back Monday till Wed. will post results when I get back with pics. I would have pics from last trip but still tyring to figure out how to post them. LOL!!:fish:

Sounds like a great trip!

I saw quite a few limits come out over the weekend, we had one group of five from Ohio limit out in 3hrs today in 16-18'. Mostly using ice-bugs (green) with spikes. It is a very light bite, so use 1-4lb line and very sensitive rods.

Dave, can a person still park his truck and triailer across the road from your tackle shop? gator

Fantastic, and not hard to detect. The only problem was, that the bite only occured when the schools swam through the area. Using a vex, you could see the schools come through, and it was game on. Had an outstanding bite Saturday night, about 1.5 miles out from gilford. Went out Sunday morning and it started out slow, about 10:30 the vex lit up, and it was non stop, for over an hour. Nothing huge, but 118, 8-12" er's is plenty for two guys to clean. By the way, "ice Cabins" organization sells bait and food at the end of the road out of Gilford. Nice people, and convenient. :grouphug: By the way, the ice is plenty safe, about 25", the locals all believe there will be ice untill well into April, slabs on.

Great to hear. My advice with fishing schools of perch and a spotting them on the Vex is the second you mark the fish drop the bait to that depth but gradually raise it up 12" or more and you'll usually get a fish to take it.

Hey Greg,

Glad to hear you guys got into some fish! We are pumped about this weekend. We are going to start out of Gilford again but if that doesn't work Keswick sounds pretty hot right now. Did you guys drive your truck out again? We are willing to walk but drive, drill and fish sounds so much nicer!

Had friends that were fishing out of Keswick and Roches Point and didn't do very well. 5 guys and 250 fish for 4 days of fishing. Your better off fishing Gilford. Head into the shallows (14 to 16 fow) that's where the pigs are moving into. Straight out from where Peter has his cluster of 4-man huts. About 3/4 to 8/10ths of a mile from gilford road is where we were at. Man I love that place!!! Drive right out!!! Ice is 24 to 30" and rock solid.
