I know this is a real general question, but if you had to choose 1 musky lure, what would it be? We pike and walleye fish Black Lake each May or June, this year I want to throw a musky bait into the trolling spread. The best I've got right now is an F18 and a few large bucktails.

On the subject, where are the muskies at in spring - 55-60 degree surface temps?

I'm not sure that putting on a different lure is going to help you boat muskies in Black Lake. If you aren't catching them on the crankbaits you use for walleyes and pike, then you are not fishing where the muskies are located. Black has a low density population of spotted muskies, and most come early in the season. So I would suggest trying some new areas with the same lures you use for the other fish; think about where the muskies are more likely to be at this time of year.

An easy to find lure over there in Grand Rapids (as opposed to the Loke's) that is a must for any musky trolling are Believers. They come jointed or straight and in several different sizes. They also have 2 eyelets for shallow or deep setting that would make this bait my lure to have if I could only have one.
