Pan fishing in the Lapeer area

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I should take my kids (ages 7 & 8) ice fishing in the Lapeer area? I have taken them out several times this year and have caught nothing. It is getting frustrating trying to get them excited about fishing when they catch no fish. In addition to the name of a lake I would like specific locations because I don't have any electronics to help locate fish and only have a hand auger.

that is the link to the state park near metamora, lake is called lake minnewanna. You can definitely get your kids to catch gills here....there are literally millions of them in there.....all the gills are very tiny but if I had kids and wanted them to catch something, I would take them there. They should have fun.

Can you be spacific on where to go on that lake? Is there any size in that lake? I would like to take some keepers home if possible.

no you will not get any keepers sorry,,....its dink city. they'll bite a bare hook I swear. go anywhere it doesn't matter. been a few years since i been there, straight off the parking area if i recall.
