Ginseng

Back in my younger years reading Fur-Fish-Game magazine I would notice articles on Ginseng I dont hear or read much about it anymore. So my question to all you plant folks is their a demand or a market out there for ginseng.Keep your powder dry !

There is a demand for ginseng. Since it's a threatened species, there are a lot of federal regulations that apply. You can't get certification (required) in Michigan for wild ginseng. You can for cultivated ginseng, but it's costly to produce. There are a couple of dozen growers in MI at the present. Wild gensing has been pretty well decimated by pickers. It can still be found, but is relatively rare.
