I’m looking at the Grizzly that they have at bass pro a 16’ with a 40 outboard. Anyone have one or any insight pros or cons? It’s listed at just under 10,000

We have one and just love it. we're using it now for river fishing , very stable, we drift spawn and have had 4 people fishing at a time. Also use it as a duck boat, great boat for the money.

At that price, I'm assuming it's a console model and that 40 is a 4 stroke? If it's a tiller and or a 2 stroke, thats a little steep!

I tried to find some links to a couple of new G3 jons 16' and 17' I found with consoles with 40 and 50 horse yamaha 4 strokes that were a bit cheaper than the Grizzly but it looks like they sold pretty fast!

I would do some searching though and make some calls on comparable boats.

I have a 1999 grizzly 1648. The transom is the weakest point on this boat. They did not even tie it into the floor supports. I would take a good look at the transom on the new models and be sure they have done something to address this. Being a all welded boat I thought I was buying the boat that would last me a lifetime. Its been back 2 times already and all they did to fix it was put a chinsy a@$ set of support brackets wich quickly broke within 6 months of the repair. So to say the least im not to happy with mine. I have to say it does fish good and is great for duck hunting. But I wished I would have coughed up the extra cash to get into a war eagle or a polar kraft.

PS i have a 40 hp 2 stroke merc and it really hauls the mail.

Grizzly.

I like this last one it's an 18' and I do like the idea of a side counsel.
I’m thinking duck hunting and walleye fishing in the Detroit River Erie and St. Clair.

Camo no big deal…new or used would be ok.
