yesterday we made the treck to brandenburg to see if some reports we heard were true.got there by noon and nary a bite until 5. the evening bite was interesting.we were all grouped in front of the condo's and i managed to pull 20 fish in an hour and a half. nothing too big , but edible.sunday had some good catches of fourty keepers.my same jiggin rap did the damage. other guys did o/k. on minnows or a small chartruse teardrop with a red dot and spikes.fish just over the weed tops in 5-6 foot of water.
tuesday morning i braved the snowstorm and headed to union lake ,oakland county.set up in 12 feet of water and nary a fish again so i moved.found a spot in 8 foot and the little buggers wouldn't go away. missed a few jumbo's too.had a big walleye come in for a look.the fish were plentiful and it took a lot of work to get them to bite. very picky. minnows only and just the small ones.i marked the spot because it was a hole surrounded by 2 slopes. if the bite was on i could have had 50.the water was chrystal clear at union and very clear at brandenburg.we even walked out a mile+ to the pressure crack but didn't fish long.the fish are there, its just a matter of time fore all heck breaks loose.try brandenburg early a.m. or late p.m. that fishery is gonna pop. :)
