Sand Lake did not treat us that good. Took the quad and went to where a local boy came out and told us...the honey hole (20 FOW). Good map reading on my part huh...ha well it did not fair for us. We caught 4 gills and 3 perch for 3 guys. My father only had 6 bites all day and never landed a fish. We had some good hits on the jigger minnows but we could not land em. My buddy switched over to a small teardrop and red spike, and caught a 10 1/2 inch perch. So were they walleyes there or was it that perch messing with us all morning...who knows. No flags all day for 3 tip-ups. Switched between jigger rod and small genz worm for panfish but even the panfish were still skittish on biting. Nobody else was doing any good out there either. High pressure and wicked East winds did not fair for us in our favor.

Corey, where were you guys on the lake? I got there about 2:30 on Sunday and was calling on the radio but I got no response. I just assumed you guys weren't out that day. I had good days both Sat and Sun on Sand. Marked fish all day and caught a few perch and one really nice redear. I was mostly tip-up fishing and really didn't think to get any fresh waxies or wigglers. I think we would have killed them if I had fresh panfish bait. Had fish coming off the bottom all afternoon chasing the bait, but had mostly artificial tails and I don't think that's what they wanted. Caught several keeper walleyes between the 2 days. Also caught several nice pike.

We left around 12:30-1 pm. We just couldn't hack the wind and lack of fish. Do you have coords or location we can hook up at this weekend??? We went to where the black permanent shanty is in the NW corner in about 20 FOW. We were told by some local boys that we were in the walleye hole??? We had one other shanty come within 40 yards of us, but we were the first guys out at 6 am. We could pull fish off the bottom pretty much all day, but the same thing, they would just sit there...Pounding or deadstick...didn't seem to matter...waxies eurolarveu mousies wigglers minnows - We gave em hell...But nothing...PM me and let me know if you are going to head out there again this weekend...We are thinkin about going to Wamplers, but who knows...What lures are you using for the eyes jiggin or are you just using tip-ups?

Sorry you guys didn't catch anything. There are a lot of people that fish that area of the lake. I was in the SW corner of the lake. I just drive on the lake from a cottage that I have access to. I am probably going to fish there all day Sat and Sun morning at least. Not going to give up any GPS coord. though, sorry. It took me 5 years to find this spot and I know that as soon as I give up the spot I'll have 50 guys fishing there the next time I go out. If you want to meet me out there Sat I'll be in a black Jeep Wrangler. I should get to the lake around 5 am on Sat. I don't have my daughter this weekend so it's a fishing weekend!
