Crossed those curtisy planks again this morning, placed over the crack on Ericson Road by a real samaritan. I seen the money can placed there for a one time gratuity, and decided to give the kind supplier of this crack aide a tip. I kidingly told my ice charter client, maybe we can catch as many fish as I put in dollars. So I put in $2.00 dollars. He says, heck if that's the case, I'll put in a buck myself. Long story short. Caught a 6 pounder at 10:30, a six pounder at 2:30 and a 4 pounder at 3:21. 10 bucks hit's the can tomorrow.

How is the travel on the bay since the big snow? All I have is a 2 wheel drive 4-wheeler. Are there enough paths through the deep stuff so that I won't get stuck? Sure would like to get out there in the morning again. Thanks!

Heres the poop.

The tracks I made this morning going out off the main trail, were covered by the new wet snow by the time we came in. Physically seeing and staying on the well worn tracks coming in tonight was impossible. The almost white out conditions had me disbelieving my GPS when we came in as well. But past mistrust in it, made me stay on it's plotted course and we came right into the planks. I would say that you would not have any trouble tomarrow traveling on the well worn trail going out if we don't get any more snow, and if you started a little later, after a few dozen or so others have cut the trail again. Also, there is a few deep slushy spots before the crack. Stay away from them, their deep.

Hey Walleye. I was out there all day yesterday hoping for a repeat of Thursday night, it wasn't in the cards. He fished most of the day out by the big jams 5.5 miles out where the fish were loaded on thursday, different day,and the fish were gone. We did get one nice hog,and missed a couple out there, we moved in to the main crack everyone has been fishing, and got one more keeper. I had a bunch of fish on the vex, one made a run on my shad rap rapala, and bamm , up comes a 10" perch, so I switched to a jack, and a rapala perch eye combo, and pulled another nice perch, and a baby walleye. It sure did seem like the bite was way off yesterday. Anybody else have any luck?

Capt. Dan, do you think the planks place there would hold a Yamaha Rhino? It weighs about 400 more pounds than the largest quad. I wouldnt want to bust them and ruin it for others. Thx

Rhino.

Your talking to a guy who is as big as a Rhino.

Combine that with my 400 Big Bear loaded with all the gear in my rack box, and I think you'll be fine using the planks set up there. :piparty:
