We will be replacing it with the chatroom that is fully integrated with our vbulletin forums over the next couple of days. This is definitely easier to use than the old chat room and should be more stable as well.

Ahhhh yet another improvement to an already great place....
Keep up the good work ! ;)
Will that be a version that requires one to log onto the fire with their screen name?

Yeap, that's the biggest plus about it.

Not that it's a biggie, but you're REQUIRED to use your screen name ?
Just curious.

Ok, that'll solve a few problems we've had in the past. :)
Yep. Like you have to have a screen name first off.......LOL

Since we will be signed on with our screen name, will we be able to enter the chatroom with just a click on a link or will we have to "sign in" again to enter the chatroom ?

Once you're in the forums, you will be in the chatroom.

Well I decided to kick the tires last night and try it out. I'll admit at first it was awkward and I had a hard time figuring it out. But after a while, it grew on me. It's got a lot of nicer features than the old campfire for sure. One of the things that bothered me and I couldn't get past after figuring out the other features was the screen size. It's much smaller than the almost full screen of the old campfire. There's a lot more other onscreen items that weren't on the old version and they kind of made it tough to pick out the chat text. After a little while I decided to try something. I went to the control panel and changed my screen resolution from my normal 800 x 600 to 1024 x 768. Although the text is a little smaller it made a big difference. I don't know how it would be possible but the text area of the chat room seemed to grow. In the higher resolution mode it seems easier to follow the chat session. I've never liked the 1024 x 768 mode but after using it for just a short time last night it's growing on me. It even makes viewing the forums better. Well that's just a tip I thought I'd share with the rest of you that are having a hard time adjusting to the new format. Hang in there, it'll get better. Change is always hard but usually for the better !
Thanks Steve !

One of the things I like best about it is you can paste a link in and not get a bunch of smilies and a bad link.

So the old campfire has walked on to the promised land in cyberland eh?
Oh well another improvement we needed.
It was fun logging on with an alias tho
I guess I'll have to check out the new improved version.

Where is this chat room located? I clicked on the campfire and was taken to what looks like the old one, where you have to log in and enter a password......

Hunter333,
Go to tool bar at top of page and click on MS Chat. It will take you right to the chat room.
You log into the new chat at the bottom of the page, just under who's on line.
