My good ol hummin-bird finally is beginning to fall apart....its about 8 years
old but works real good until the power button fell off....
THE QUESTION: Can this be repaired, if so, who does this kinda repair
work....???

Near the end of the season I was turnign the graph on with a paper clip...
the problem I have is that when the power button broke, it also went overboard....

Once I get the graph on it seems to work....any suggestions besides by a
new one....I may have to break down and fork out the bucks....any
suggestions on a graph for LSC ??? my current is not color...should I go color? any other new worthwhile features I should consider???

appreciate any and all recommendations....thanks, Ken :dizzy:

Ken,
Check my post in the Electronics, GPS and other outdoor communications forum regarding Humminbird customer service. I'm not complaining, just questioning the logic. And it does appear questionable!!!

No offense, but you got 8 years out of a bottom of the line fish finder. Let it die a pieceful death...

Really, you can purchase technology that is 10x better for, I have to imagine, less than what it will cost you in the end to repair a decade old unit.

Newer units, if you learn to interpret what they are showing you, are unbelivable. You dont have to spend a fortune to get something decent

Ken, I went to color on my chartplotter last year. Once you have color, you'll never go back. You can clearly see the screen from anywhere in the boat. I should have gone with color on the sonar also. Next one will be.
