I was wondering if you had to choose only one lure to use, and that was it, live bait not included what would you choose?
I would use a Rapala. seems like that bait can do it all.
whats your choice?

I guess it would depend on the situation. For sport fishing, I would have to go with the spinnerbait. If it was for survival and sustenance, I would have to choose the good ol' red n white daredevle.

it is a question asking if you could only use one lure, that is it for all types of fishing, you only get one choice forever what would you choose?

Tough one here, my favorite is the Scum Frog, but for different varieties of fish in an endless amount of situations I would have to go with a watermellon tube. Have caught Largemouth, smallmouth, pike, crappie, perch,& one walleye on them.

1/4 oz plain jighead with a 3" curly tail grub. White or watermelon. Jig it, swim it, crawl it and it works on any species.

I,would have to say I've caught more fish on a 1/3 oz Little Cleo spoon(orange/chrome) and second would 1/4oz same thing;than any other lure in my boxes.

But I enjoy working stick-bait's like Rapala,Bomber,or Storm,etc.

Still, alot has to be said for #2 or #3 RedBo Mepps Aglia(tubed).

And I've seen days when a Beetle-Spin caught everything in the water from Gills & Specs to Bass & Pike.

My most unusual catch would have to be the 6-7lb Carp, that chased down my 1/4oz little cleo, and ate it.It had all three barbs in it's mouth,so I know it wasn't a lucky snag.Plus it was in less than a foot of water,so I watched it go for it.

It would be a hard choice, but I think I would go with the spoon,if I only had one choice,as I can work it the most variety of ways. From wounded minnow to spinner(fast retrieve),to jig bouncing on the bottom.

Have to start out with an in-line spinner bait. Caught a lot of different species with it.
Second would be a harness with a plastic worm.
Third would be ............. a jitterbug?

i agree with deputy about the zaras as a good bait. i cast one into trees on an island but it still dropped into the water and a 3 and a 1/2 lb largemouth grabbed it before i could even turn the motor to retrieve it. it was the zara spook in green looks sorta like a frog coloration.

but for my lifetime pick i would have to say a yellow mr twister grub or whatever you know what i'm talkin' about. it can catch almost anything that doesn't sit like a bump on a log:lol:

A 3/16 oz hi density weedless spoon (Johnson's or Rapala's) with a 1" white split-tail plastic trailer, w/ red tips.
Can be fished in open water, in heavy weeds, deep, shallow, slow and fast. Small enough for smallies, crappie and big trout. Large enough for pike or (if in saltwater) bluefish and seatrout.
