All,

I just moved up here and would like to know if there are any close fishing opportunities. I live in a sub on the corner of M-59 and Byron. I love to fish for just about anything. I do not have a boat so I have concentrated on spring river walleye and shoreline bass in the summer. I am from Ohio. I have read up on all the regulations here in Michigan. Howell has Thompson Lake and Lake Chemung. There are plenty of smaller lakes and ponds around as well. Any info is greatly appreciated!

Any idea where I can find a topo of the area? My guess is I may have to buy one online? Anyone fish the area before that could point me in the right direction in terms of a good body of water?

You don't have to purchase lake maps. Go to the Michigan DNR
website to online maps and you can find them by county and
print out the ones you want.
Chemung is off and on from one winter to the next but has
decent fishing but you will need a boat or hook up with someone
having a boat.
Lots of nice gills, crappies, very nice pike, bass and a few walleyes.
PM me with your name and phone number and I'll give you a
little more specific info on area lakes much better than Chemung.
