Hey guys - I'm having trouble with, well, can't decide if it's the arrows or the arrow rest. I'm shooting a quicktune with the skinny 30" Carbon Express 6075 Hunters - the 'buff' finish is rough and it squawks like a fiddle on the draw - really noisy. Tried different rest and same deal. I guess what I need to know is, does Easton or any one else make a similar, but smooth small diameter carbon arrow - they say different diameters for the the 6075 Hunter, seems like it was around .300 of an inch. Anyone know which I mean by 'skinny'?? I'm also not opposed to keeping the CE's if I can come up with some sort of silent material on my rest forks. Anyone else have this problem with C.E.'s? Thanks for any help....

I Had The Same Problem W/ My Quick Tune Drop Away Rest. Also Have The Buff Tuff Finish On My Carbons. I Found That After Trying A Few Things That People Suggested. That A Little Mole Skin On My Rest Eliminated The Noise. its not just the buff tuff either. they made the same noise w/ my vapor 4000,and the vapor v-max carbons.

I use a quick tune arrow rest as well, a little mole skin or felt tips quiet the arrows down. I use the felt tips and 1 set last me a season.

Actually those are 'standard' carbon diameters. The skinny are the old poltruded shafts and the new CX edge and the Easton Axis shafts. Then there are fat shafts like the CXL's and the target goldtips.

It's kinda hard to get any carbon shaft to be quiet on a tm style prong rest(standard term for style rests like the NAP) without mole skin or felt.

I'm having trouble with, well, can't decide if it's the arrows or the arrow rest.

I won't come out and say it (rest) but one of the greatest advancements in the past couple of years as far as ease of tuning and making a HUGE dfference with a single purchase.....drop away arrow rest.

Check out a Trophy Taker, Drop Zone or a TKO. That and/or a little moleskin and you'll be amazed.

Carbon Express Terminator selects have a smooth black finish (don't worry the deer won't notice) and are a good arrow with a straightness of .003 .
With the new arrows and the addition of a Whisker Biscuit rest , you will be good to go for hunting .:)
