I am just getting back on the bay after not having a big boat for a while and I want to buy some different baits. I have tons of Hot n Tots, deep and regular huskey jerks, & have harnesses tied up. A couple different lures with a different profile and wobble than the rapalas and tots would give me some options. I dont know much about Reef Runners but they seem to get used. Any info or ideas on what size, color, and trolling speed would help save some trial and error time.

Send me a PM with a phone number and I'll give you a call. There are
a number of options which work very well on the bay which I'll be
glad to discuss with you.

Hey Guys! I'd be interested in this as well. I'm new to the Bay and am looking for tips of any kind. Also, I usually have an empty seat, so I might be open to taking some experts out on the water!
I fish Erie alot and do some salmon fishing too. Can't wait for the spring!

Last year, threeway rigs with tots on the bottom and stinger spoons on top worked well. Also caught quite a few trolling meat on purple harnesses. Make sure you have an up to date precision trolling guide, they come in handy when trolling hard baits

Have not tried the three way rig yet, but will this year. Like Rick said Purple has its days out there, I've have purple Reef Runners, Hot n Tots, Yozuri, and Blades that goes on first with chrome and green next to start trolling with. Best thing is don't buy a lot till you read some past post from last summer for out there, and listen to the new ones this year. Early spring start with smelt shaped stick baits first thou, with shad shaped baits later in the summer.

depend on inner or outer bay.silver streak has some very attractive small spoon colors this year. i reciever some pre-production models in copper colors and i'll bet that these will put fish in the box.also dont forget to have dave's ka-boom.his dad was the founder of storm.his version of the deep t-stick jr. looks wonderful in the water.early season these would be a good bet.walleye express spoon harness wouls be a good bet once the water warms up.i have been switching to a lot of reef runners for fall on erie ,but have not used them on the bay.maybe someone can give color choices.i usually use eriedecent, purples, white perch, cheap sunglasses, and either wonderbread or confusion in the deep runner because we fish huron or vermillion.for peak times a 3-way rig with a hot-in tot and a harness or spoon is becoming popular.i have not run these much yet. maybe someone else can chine in.early on until mid may nothing beats a deep husky jerk for big fish.i run them as flatlines or way back off the boards.i have caught a 10.4, 9.6 and 3-5 8 pounders on this setup alone.in july and august try a pa's half ounce with a crawler harness behind it.picks off many eaters.is that enough for now?.
