Boehr,

I am going to be 16 next April, and with the age of 16 comes driving privledges. I currently rely on my parents to take me hunting, but was wondering can a 16 year old hunt without an adult? If so can I do it for all forms of hunting (archery, small game, deer gun season, muzzleloader, etc.)? Are there any special restrictions for traveling with a firearm that is not legaly owned by me (my firearms are in my parents names)?

Thanks,

If you are hunting on the land which your parents live, and you have their permission, you can hunt alone. Unfortunately, from your post that doesn't sound like that's the case. If you are hunting on lands of another or public land, you must be hunting with someone at least 17 years old or older designated by your parents or with your parent or guardian. This is also on page 6 of the hunting digest.

As far as guns, you may borrow a longarm but no matter how old you are you may never borrow a handgun.

Boehr- I would most likely be hunting my great aunts farm. They live on the property, and are well over the age of 18. Would this be legal even if they are not hunting? Also if it matters, the neighbors of the property are also related to me somehow or another (mom's side of the family somewhere), and I have permission to hunt their land also.
