I'm very honored to announce that I've been accepted to represent Michigan Stinger Spoons on their Pro Staff. And according to Rob (stingers PR man) I'm the first staffer accepted in the last two years. So I feel doubly honored. I'd also like to thank W.F. member "Champ" for His recommendation, and Terry Weber (Stinger Spoons owner) for both having the faith and confidence in me that any Pro Staff position carries with it.

Another thing I'm excited about is that Terry has given me permission to incorporate His Stinger Scorpion spoons into my Spoon Slider Harness Rigs. Last year I was using three different component spoons to make my rigs, and even though all worked adequate enough, the stingers were light weight, had the right kick, and came in the multiple/popular colors I was looking for.

My thumbs are raw, as I just finished making my winter production (350) of my Spoon Slider Rigs in 28 different colors, and will sell these at a reduced price to anybody on the M.S. board that's interested. Once I wholesale any thats left to Franks in Mid-march, their retail price will be higher and there won't be any more (at least not from me) till next late winter.

I'm including a few things for your viewing. I'm pasting two testimonials from two well know M.S. board users from last year, who bought some of the 300 Rigs I made up. Also the color charts of the Stingers and the codes for the ones I've ordered and have on hand right now. You may need to print out the color chart to be able to see the codes. All these Rigs are as you most know, is a winter project of mine, that allows me/you to troll with both plastic and meat at the same time at speed up to 3MPH. I designed them to use as slider above crankbaits, but they can be used with any weight forward rig or with snap weights if you wanted. You can E-mail or P.M. Me for details.

Codes of the colors I have on hand right now.

Capt Dan,

Thanks for the info!!! Your harness performed to a T Saturday as we went 13-20 off Point AuGres. About half of our fish came on the Confusion/Pumpkinseed Gulp combo! Never bothered trying the slider setup as our riggers and 3 oz bottom bouncers performed well (didn't want to mess with something that was working!) Fish definitely seemed scattered, but all our fish came right off bottom in 28-30 fow a little south of Point AuGres. To the guy who thought your harnesses didn't look to great, his loss!!!

Thanks again!!! I'll be running more of them !!!

Spoon fed on the Bay

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Headed to AuGres today to do some walleye fishing, only to find very rough seas. The 1-2 footers that the marine forecast was calling for was more like 4-5 footers, a bit to rough for my 7 year old son. We decided to head down to the Pinconning area and launch out of Gambills. The water was a little calmer and seemed to be calming so we headed out. The fishing was pertty slow with the crawler harnesses and hot-n-tots until I slid one of Capt. Dans spoon sliders above a couple hot-n-tots. We ended up catching 7 walleye with all but one coming on the spoons and lost a few other fish. I am definitely sold on them, I ended up stopping by Franks on the way home and picked up a few more. The fish all ranged between 20 and 25 inches, we also caught a few cats on the spoons to.

Good Fishing

Tim

Believe it or not, the Tittabawassee has been wide open and the G. Ramp has been clear for about 4 days now, and I thought of giving it a try. That is until I seen the the water flow was about 6,000 CFPS more than the norm. :yikes:

Theres a picture of one of the rigs at the bottom of the last picture in my initial post. Showing it actually riged would be a tough one, being it's not actually working until it gets to the stopper above the crankbait and starts running/working a little behind and above it. Heres a picture I drew that gives you an idea of how the rig works.

Parson.

Being on Stingers Pro Staff doesn't give me privlage to sell their spoons at either wholesale or retail prices. If you want to buy their spoons, you'd have to buy them retail at the many sporting goods stores that sell them. I'm just glad to have gotten permission to use them in my rigs and get a price break on them myself. I'll PM you what the prices on the rigs are though.

I'm getting a pretty good response to my rigs, and it seems some colors are more popular than the others. I'm not out of any particular colors yet. But I'm not ordering any more spoons to make any more rigs, like I had mentioned in a previous post. So I'm hoping if I do run out of a particular color, that any I have to substitute in anybody's order will be recieved in a fair minded fasion. All the colors I ordered were not just off the top of my head. All of them I thought would have fish catching potential on the Saginaw Bay. Of course all of you guys are not just fishing the Bay with them. But I'm still asking ahead of time, for your understaning in this matter if it happens to you. :gaga:

has this rig been used on Erie? if so, what were the results of whom ever used them on Erie. thanks alot. i am inquiring, because 99.9% of my walleye fishing takes place on Erie, and i would like something different to pull by them on those tough bite days.

Jstfish.

I've been getting a few orders from guys who will indeed be trying them on Erie. But have no positive responses by any who have used them there before yet. Again, I just make a few every year as a winter project. They are not a big production number retailed all over the Great Lakes areas. :chillin:

Congrats on getting the Pro Staff position Dan, what a great honor!!! Was curious if you could send me some prices on these rigs, I would be greatly interested in getting a half dozen of these. We are HUGE trollers on Lake Erie Western and Central basin. The Meat sometimes worked better than the spoons last year up in Michigan near Monroe. With the spoons added flash, I KNOW these will work! If you could PM me some more information, I will be more than happy to try these rigs on Lake Erie and give you full detail on how these work! Another off the wall question, if there any way you can get ahold of your Walleye Express Reef Runners...Being from Toledo, Ohio, they are not around here...or could you tell me where to get them??? Looks like they will do some damage around the reefs trolling in the spring. Great color design! Let me know...

Cory.

P.M. info on the way. Now, the Walleye Exprerss custom Reef Runner color your looking for might be a bit tougher. I myself, only just noticed them last fall at Franks in Linwood. The color of course was barrowed from the Winning Streak custom color that Dave Storm made up. I'd guess, if you contacted the Reef Runner company in Ohio, they'd have some or know where you could get some.

Thanks for the Info Dan, I just remember seeing the color of the R.R. last year on one of your posts and thought it would put some eyes in the box on Erie also...Thanks for sending the PM on those rigs, I will hopefully be using them as soon as the ice lets out enough for us to troll around the reefs...Keep me posted, as i will also. Thanks!
