Mini Mongrel and I fished .5 mile south of DNR parking lot. Mini got 2 mud puppys and 1 8" perch. I got skunked. We will try again in the AM.

Myself, Neil Duffey, Captain Howdy, MiketheElder, Youngbuck, Exploding Varmints, and Wicked Carpenter were all in Campau today. Tough going man. Started out so good too. Within the first 10 minutes when I got lines in the water this morning I already had 3 keepers in the bucket. Fished all day and finished with 5. Man, how crappy is that? From 11 am til dark they were just shutoff or gone. Had one that was pushin 13, but gave my fish to Youngbuck. I felt he's got the longest drive so he deserves a Perch dinner the most. Crummy fishing, but always great to be out. Good company, stories, cold ginger ales ;) . Also had a first experience today. Neil Duffey ordered pizza. When he came on the radio asking what we all wanted I thought he was kidding so I played along. 15 minutes later he comes up to my shanty asking for money towards the pies. Sure as a heart attack, his cousin heads back to the ramp and comes back with pizzas.:gaga: That kinda kicked some tail. Hungry Howies by the way. "Hello pickup or delivery?" "Uh, delivery...The address is Lake St. Clair by the old candles." Almost forgot. I nabbed myself a "soaker" on the way out. Found a weak spot and decided to check the water temp. with my left leg. It wasn't so bad down at my foot, about 33 degrees. But colder up at my knee, about 32 to maybe 32.5 degrees. Watch the ice out there guys. I saw a couple other large holes too. At least 2 feet in diameter. Watch your step for sure.

It started getting pretty bad out there in the rain last Monday...As for Hungry Howies, I work on the weekends at one and the 1st question upon answering the phone is "pick-up or delivery???"

that was my triple actualy... i landed the 12 incher on that triple... NO I DIDNT HAVE 3 IN THE HOLE! when my cousin left he didnt take his bate outa the water... i truned around and his pole was bobbin... i hooked it, and pulled it up and then myn went... i hooked that hog and as i pulled her out, my second line went as well. so i had 3 friggin fish floppin rouns my shanty. i baited my poles and put em back... i tossed one of the fish back outa the tripple. i dont think theres much of a problem in that situation. not like i myself was out there alone and fishing more than my 2 poles. and belive me, had i known there where 3 down there...ida taken his out. as when it happend youngbuck, explodingvarments and i where all bs'in out side the shanties... defanitly a fun experiance though, and i didnt talk on the radio cuz i was buisy dealing w/ the current hot bite. i never heard any dnr come over the radio...

Neil's "three" fish caused me to leave Congor Bay, where I only saw one dink, and come over to Campau Bay. That's a heck of a walk (from the parking lot silly! I couldn't wak across the open water at the Clinton River) and one that I don't expect to make again this year.
Didn't catch a thing but the company was great. Matt thanks again for the ride back. I still feel bad about that backhand flip with the perch that hit you square in the face. Interesting afternoon and evening. Hope Youngbuck made the long trip home OK.
