Fished both of these lakes within the last week.

Had a beautiful sunrise Sunday morning and fished til 2 on Crooked (12' to 34'), marking a couple small schools of perch but not seeing one stinkin' fish on the camera, or the ice. As I was walking off the ice, I noticed a row of tip-ups (4 to 6) that were set by a blue blazer, over an hour ago, which was at the south end of the lake over a mile away.....nice. If I would have had the cell phone, I would have called those yahoos in.

Yesterday, I spent a pleasent afternoon situated near the mouth of the Indian River in 34' of water. Wish I had known that the I-75 bypass runs just 100 yds from where I positioned myself. Needless to say, I will make a drastic move next time, but the traffic didn't seem to both the other two parties fishing around me. Getting to the point.....ZIPPO, NADA, ZILCH. 0. If If it doesn't get any better, I'll wait til March 15th, but it's tough right now. Is it?

I here ya about the I75 traffic out in front of the River. Last weekend, we set up out there, and had several trucks go by, missing our tip-ups by no more than 2'. At first I thought it was unintentional. So, right at dark, here comes the headlights again (3 trucks), so we run over and stand next to our tip-ups waving out hands so they knew we were set up there. Well, they flew by us about 40 MPH, not 10' from me, and again missing our rigs by not more than 2'. I was pi**ed, and was yelling at them but they just kept right on trucking by.
Nice to see our fellow sportsmen have that much common curteousy for others. I understand that we were set up right by their "road," but they could have at least slowed down.
Oh well, I have come to expect it now days. If you don't expect it, then you will always be disappointed I suppose. BTW, we got 3 'eyes to boot, one was 26".
