Hotels/Motels near Higgins

Need a little help. I tried searching hotels and motels near Higgins online and only come up with the big chain hotels. Anyone have any recommendations from experience? I hear the TeePee is alright. Looking for someplace modestly priced, nothing too fancy.

Also, while I am firing questions... is the "west boat launch on Higgins in the north or south basin of the lake.

There's not to much in the way of "motels" around Higgins Lake, Houghton Lake which is just south of Higgins has tons more accomidations available.

The Higgins Lake, Roscommon County COC website has a few under "Cabins", "Cottages" and "Motels"

The fawn Hotel on the west side by Smeltville is one place but they only have
a couple of rooms #989-821-6658 let them know your fisherman a little better
rate. There is the Great Escape motor lodge just before the Fawn they are not
top qulity hotels but good place to lay your head those rooms very $55 to$115.
1-800-361-8312. There is the Northwinds on the other side of the lake by the bait shop, 989-821-6972. Hope this helps!

Ended up booking at the TeePee motel in Roscommon. The people were very friendly and the room is $48 a night with tax. Now we'll just have to see what it looks like. Thanks for the info Burksee and Ksalmon
