Just got back from Campau bay, Went out early before work just to see if the fish were up. Once the bait was in the water, a huge hog jump on it. Then for the next thirty minute, it was 1 fish every 3 minutes. First time this season that I actually caught something worth sharing. Total of 10 keepers in 45 minute. Not bad. All fish were 10" +

Thanks fish eater for the help

:) :fish:

He has it all right. It is on the "south" side of Harley (looking at Huron point) . North side is the river.

I can screw up directions with the best of them but I better know where Campau Bay is. I can just about throw a rock to it from my house! :p

How was the water quality? I talked to the guy that runs the Brige Bait Shop and he said the water was like choclate milk and unfishable. He's obvioulsly mistaken about the last part.

The bay north of Harley is Bouvier Bay, but don't try to get there from Harley.
It helps me to remember them in series. North to south they run alphabetically. Anchor, Bouvier, Campau. That darn L'Anse Creuse screws up my system.LOL

Ok so at the boat launch at the end of s. river rd when you drive in to the north is the lauch itself and to the south (left side if entering the park) is campau bay correct??? where abouts is everyone fishing??? is it walking distance?? i am going to be heading out there well before the sun is up so any directions would be helpful (since i have never been there) thanks

Bay is on the R side as you enter....It'll become obvious once you get there.

Good luck!

Yes, when you drive in, from the gates looking towards the Sheriff station you are facing east. the water on the N side (by the boat launches) is the Clinton River. The water on the south side is Campau Bay. With the weather forecast, use EXTREME caution if you decide to head north or east. Actually, if you want to continue east you most likely won't find bad ice, you will find NO ice. This time of year most guys who do well fish well due south of Harley, about 3/4 of the way across the bay, a bit of a hike but not real long.

Actually, I don't mean to be a tattle tale Esox. But to be honest, the Bay immediately North of South River Road (Harley) is Belvidere Bay. Bouvier Bay is the Bay we all fish in Fairhaven. The Northeast corner of American waters.

whats the water clearity like in the 'hot spot' of compu or what ever it is? and is there still a mega current in there? i fished it two weeks ago and it was poo color water w/ a current that moved my line at least 8 inchs from the hole.

Neil-

water was still very murky yesterday night. 2-2.5 feet of visability with a moderate current. I only fished 2 hours and had 2 hits on minnows. felt like good fish too but didn't land them. i think they were hittin em tail first and i didn't giver it enough time.

Fished their last night and the water is pretty cloudy. There is a little current going through, but it isnt too strong. Fished from 3:30 to 6:30 and ended up with 3 Perch and a 20in Muddpuppy. I hate catching those things. Got it off, threw it back, and that was all for the night.
