Dog ate my bait

Tossed my week old floater minnows out last night... The birds usually take care of them... Well, my wife let our 4 month old lab pup out and he ate every last one of em... 20+ minnows barfed all over the house... I was cleaning carpets for 2 hours last night...

Thats weird? Dogs usually have iron stomachs. I'll tell you we were cleaning walleye last year, we were throwing the walleye in a garbage can. Well my friends dog was actually catching and swallowing whole the carcasses. We did not know until we went to take out the trash. The dog was fine.

Then my dog stole 8 frozen chicken breasts off the counter when I wasnt looking. She was fine too.

My lab used to stick his head in the bait well and eat the minnows. I told him that if I run out of bait before I get my limit, I was going to fillet him. I guess that didn't bother him because he continued doing it on every trip. I finally just had to buy more minnows! :p

fishtale's britt loves the taste of minnows, which is kinda scary sometimes. the bait on the hook looks eerily like dinner to em.

My 2 year old Chessie loves minnows and will eat a live perch off the ice if I don't watch him.
Now thats an interesting question if a dog mine or some one elses eats part of my catch while on the ice do I count the fish he ate as part of my limit?

My lab has actually caught a few live fish in our canal. Once he came up with a Bass out of season. I can just see me explaining to the CO. Honest sir, my dog caught and kept that fish! :p

Once our german sheperd oped our freezer in the garage, and ate a whole frozen turkey. All we found was the plastic wrapper.

Have you ever got your bait at the Bridge Bait Shop near Cotton Rd?He always throws his dogs a few minnies and they just love em.yum yum:D And one of them is getting old hasnt seemed to harm him.Oh and about the barf,isnt that the best part about owning a dog and or cat?:lol:

Used to have a white shepard. Every time i came home from fishing he would eat a perch. (If I was lucky enough to catch any)

My lab ate a dozen, tip-up shiners once. They all came out, just the way they went in,,, WHOLE and a few of them were still floppin' when he barfed them up.
