bait shop info in saginaw

go to take kids to shake on the lake this sat. but i don't know the saginaw area that well. were can i pick up bait?

The only dependable place would be Gander Mnt...Theres a guy on Gratiot Rd.(R&R), But I think he is closed, i have gone there on numerous occassions only to find the "Closed" sign in the window,, it dose'nt matter what day of the week or time of the day...I have'nt seen him open since Oct........Tom

Another benfit is Gander Mountain is less than a mile from Haithco, where the shake on the lake is taking place. There are a couple of other bait shops if you wanted bait early than when Gander opens. Both are on M-13. One is North about half way between Saginaw and Bay City, and the other is a little party store just south of Saginaw. The only thing that I know for sure that they sell is walleye minnows. I'm not sure if they carry waxies, perch minnows or pike minnows. Just a little tip for Haithco, there are a lot of small pike, and you can get by fishing tip-ups with walleye minnows.
