I am new to this site and I'll be honest, I'm kinda shy to say that I shoot a Mathews. A different site that I used to post on was cruel to Mathews owners. Just wondering if this is a hostile environment for Mathews shooters????

A lot of jealous people out there aren't there?

Nah, no Mathews haters here....they wouldn't last long bashing somebody for their choice of equipment anyway! Welcome to the site!

Oh, and btw, that Mathews afliction can be easily cured, just get to your nearest Hoyt dealer asap!

Welcome to the site !

You'll find a MUCH different atmosphere at this site than others. This site is top notch for sure. People here use all different kinds of equipment and as Swamp Monster said, we don't bash people for their choice of gear. You're going to find a ton of good people and information here.

Enjoy !

I shoot a mathews , but I am not loyal to Mathews or any other brand . I shoot what works for me , and stay out of the equipment arguements . This site is pretty good compared to some of the other sites . We like to rib each other a little ,but nothing too serious .
It serves no purpose to bash another person's choice of equipment ,other than to divide us .
If bowhunters spent more time promoting the sport ,and not their own choice of equipment , the sport of bowhunting would be a lot better off .

Nope, no hater. I currently own a Hoyt. But I hope to also a Bowtech and a Mathews. That "bow company haters club" is one I've never understood. It's like their personality is defined by the name brand on the bow. Be it Hoyt, Mathews or Bowtech, or whatever. I wonder how many of those same guys own Remington's, Winchester's and Browning's and love them all? ;)

I never liked the feel or the looks of the Mathews line, still don't. Most of the parallel designs lack a certain aesthetic. They are a great product like sooo many others. Currently shoot an old Hoyt Super Slam. Hard to explain the scorch marks on the old credit card to the better half if I wanted to update. How about a salary cap on archery equipment!

Ya know 454, I walked in to look for a new bow a few years ago and the guy said Mathews. I said "no way" too much, too different, and I am not paying for the name that much more! He said ok and I shot a bunch of bows then he said "just shoot the Mathews one time" I agreed and tried to shoot as bad as I could but I was hitting bulls and the bow was so smotth in my hand I had to leave. I went back a week later and that same guy said "it came in yesterday" I was mad at him when I walked outta there with that Q2XL that day

I'm probably the biggest Mathews opponent on here but in no way a hater ;)

I just, personally, don't like single cams. Or the grip but if they made a dually witha slim line grip on it....I might wear the "M" hat :D

Welcome aboard. This place is definitely different than the others out there. Everyone here seems much more respectfull of one another IMO....I like it.

I would tell anyone here what I would say to you in person, buy something that feels comfortable and fits your pocket book. With today's archery equipment you really can't go wrong! <----<<<

No real haters on this site!! Just people that prefer different equipment for different reasons. Everyone pretty much respectfully disagree's with each other. :)

Banditto,

I shoot a Mathews LX and must say it is the nicest shooting bow that I've ever shot. I have not shot a Bowtech yet but have shot much of the Hoyt and Mathews line. The LX simply drew the smoothest and is very fast and dead on accurate. I love it, the novelty of shooting this bow has not wore off yet. It's still a pleasure to shoot after 1 year.

Mathews is kind of like the Yankees. Tons of money and they go after the top stars. Its American nature to root for the under dog and they are the top dog, for right now anyway.

Not a hater but if anyone want my LX, its for sale.

Why would anyone hate a mathews? Oh yea the price. That is the only reason I don't have one. I shoot a Parker, just liked the way it shot and it was affordable. If I had a little more diposable income I might just buy a mathews.

:16suspect Have had PSE,and Hoyt, now fling the sticks with a Mathews LX got to say at least to me by far the LX is one of the smoothest shooting bows i have shot, and when coupled with a few silencer buttons the most quiet bow i have ever shot.......guess i am partial couse i shot my 9 point with a drop tine with it..... last year......:D ( Trophy Ridge Sites ) and quiver............just my 2 cents worth

No reason to hate any brand. I cant shoot a Mathews because the grips just dont suit me. I went with an AR because of the slim grip.

I have had a Mathews for 8 years. Love the bow. Until I bought a new set of arrows last year I was shooting 1/4" groups (that is why i had to buy new arrows). Been strugging with the tuning, and could only get it back to 1 inch groups.

My boy will be old enough to hunt next year. I have mixed feelings on buying a new bow and handing it down to him. Or just buying him a new bow and keeping it for myself. We will shoot a lot of different brands, then decide.

I wish I could afford a Mathews. I shoot a Bear Code, sounds like someone kicking a 5-gallon jug off a cliff but I've killed alot of deer with it. Also had to defeat a cable guide problem on it. The cable guide would twist which caused the fletching to contact the cable at launch. I have a bud in the TV-huntin' buisiness. Hes off fishing right now back east but I know that Mathews has sent him a new switchback. I'm gonna hit him up for his old bow when he gets back.

I was at a wildgame dinner at Convienent Sportsman about five years ago and someone won the grand prize of a Mathews set up. He looked at the guy behind the counter and said, "Do you carry Darton?" They looked at him like he blasphemed in the eyes of God. Matt's a nice guy but that was the most extreme Mathews crew ever I think. I think he took the bow reluctantly and said he was going to sell it and get a new Darton.

During the bus ride to my 7th grade field trip in Toronto, I traded a kid a Canadian $5 for his U.S. $5. Maybe this is the same guy.
