Fished 6 - 8 am on a southern Livingston County lake. Crappies were 10-11'
down it 14 feet of water. 14 between 6 and 7 am and one more at 7:15 then it was over. Crappies ranged from 9 1/2" to 12 1/4", not monsters by any means but good eating all the same.

you gunna tell your fellow pinckney fishermen what lake it was???? :grouphug: My husband and I are hitting Vineyard Lake near Brooklyn, we live in Milan, tomorrow. Last Sunday we got 4 12" perch and a dozen 7" in 25'. It was a quick bite and even drilling to chase the school didn't help. It went off around 2 oclock. We are starving for a crappie bite. The green light has not brought one to the hole. Looking to go to Higgins for smelt and perch end of the month. We can drive for a chance at some decent pan fish and maybe the bonus walleye. Kevin is a good searcher and walks and drills a lot of holes but the more people the better. Kev can fish afternoons to 7 weekdays also. We are looking for some hole punching friends. We have the camera and all the gear and even an extra heater and two man shanty. Pinckney area sounds good, our phone is 734-439-2774. good fishing to you. Kevin and Zobie.

I have not problem sharing which lake it is --Big Silver
not sure where {big} silver is? you talkin bout green oak lake A.K.A. silver lake by silver lk rd. & marshall just east of u.s. 23 & south of I. 96 ? went out sunday to Strawberry lk.{portage chain} at 1:30 till 6:00pm started fast & lost 5 minnows right away . finally got one up & it was a 12" bass lg. mouth. 20mins. later got another this one goes about 18", that was fun, i thought i might be on the walleyes oh well! about an hour later i see more fish on the sonar but they wont bite till i put a new minnow on a bam i pull up a 8 " rock bass, then another & another, ended up getin 8 rock bass but i spent alot of time bringing them back to life in the hole? maybe cause i was pulling them up from 41 feet of water, they all lived though. then it shut down at about 5:00pm. standin around having a beer talkin to the guy that lives on the lake & he says i think your gettin a bite, so i grab my pole & it feels heavy so i reel it up & i get a 13" perch! i was shocked cause i've been fishing that area for 15 years with the kids & never seen one bigger than 7 ". i thought i might be on a school of jumbos but i never saw another mark on my sonar till dark so i left. but still it was my best outing on that lake ever. all fish came on minnows, tryed wax worms 4 feet away & never got a bite.

COHO,
I think you were fishing way too deep on Strawberry.
Try off the island in about 20' of water but watch out for bad ice
North of the island---in front of river mouth.
Another spot would be in the 20' depth along the West side of the sand bar.
Haven't been out there this year so I don't know about the ice but I
do know that Strawberry can be tricky and we had a couple of thaws
so the ice might be iffy around the sand bar as well.
Be careful
i got a little private access on the far west end of the lake, almost as far west as you can go.i did a sea wall there & they let me go across thier property. but i know what you mean about the ice, so i stayed on the west end.i did another job right to the east of the island 2 years ago but they would not let me park or fish there. last year i walked across the lake 5 or6 times to the island but no luck. you talkin bout the sand bar off the point that is pretty much in the middle of the lake?
