How much is a one day fishing license in Ontario. I heard $40 if you want to keep your 50 perch limit. I also heard you can buy a one day fishing license for $15. Which is it?

Last year the license for a full year (not the reduced limit consevation license) was $61 Canadian. Haven't purchased one for this year yet so I don't know if it has gone up. I never bought a 1 day but I thought it was around $15.

skamaniac-we just set up our Lake Simcoe trip up with Lake Simcoe Fishing Adventures for Friday the 18th. Rick is a great guy. I mentioned that somebody from this site recommended him. He asked who it was. So if you want sent me a PM or whatever and I'll let him know. Thanks again for all of the useful information!!!:)
Just up there last weekend. These were the prices. I couldn't find any place up there that only has one day licences. Probably make a lot more money only selling one week license.
1) 7 Day Sport Fishing Licence ( Full catch and possession limits) Cost is $40-
2) 7 Day Conservation Licence (Reduced catch and possession limits) Cost is $23.50

Rick has licenses, just get there about 15 minutes early because his wife takes care of them. He is out getting the huts ready before you get there and she works in the city. Call and ask to make sure they still have some, a lot of times they run out. You can also get licenses at Harry's which is on the way to Rick's place. Harry's can be hard to find because he is down stairs from a restaurant ( i think). Anyway, Harry's is on the river on the right right just before you cross the bridge when you're travelling north. Another spot that has licenses in Keswick is Davey Point Marine.

You can't buy a one day license for Lake Simcoe. Ontario one days licenses are for the Great Lakes Only. You have to buy a 7 day or annaul license.

Yeah that is exactly what Rick said-$40 to be able to keep 50-your limit. He said if you only want to keep 25 then buy the $20 one. But come on how often do you get a chance to catch your limit on a day at Lake Simcoe. I've never been there so I'm gonna go all out. Possibly even stay another day if the fishin is really hot. I will keep everyone updated as to how we do. thanks for all the help. Just curious-how many 10in perch would you need to make 1 person full?

You are allowed to bring home a 2 day limit. Stay the extra day. Unless the big females are moving in, i would keep everything 8" and up. Eight is the minimum size i would attempt to filet, but they eat just as good.
