walleye express

O.K. Guys heres where we're at. It seems this whole Goby color idea has really taken off. Rather it was the controversy and misunderstandings generated by it all, or simply the rational/sound idea that producing a lure in the favored forage color choice that the walleyes were eating, just made good sense.
Either way Dave Storm was flooded with requests from wholesalers to make enough of these customs to supply a lot more outlets than he had planned to. So he's decided to make the Goby color a production color. And not only that, but because each one of the Goby pictures we found on the Internet looked a little differnet, Dave decided to make 4 different individual Goby colors and include all them in his regular production line.
What this means is that there will be enough for everybody who wants one or a dozen, to buy them at retail outlets. And even if I bought a few of each at a reduced Bulk/Retail price for all you original guys who wanted these customs, the shipping would probably eat up any savings I/we could get anyway. So I think in essence we all accomplished what we wanted in the first place and more. Now we can buy as many or as few and get to choose from 4 Goby colors patterns versus just one. I don't know at this time what outlets are going to order these new lures. I do know that Franks will probably be the first ones to get them in, as he was the original outlet that was going order and to try the original custom idea out along with us few. I'm guessing Pete will put these on their Internet customer store when they come in, so even if your local outlet don't stock them, you'll be able to order some.
I've seen three of the four prototypes myself just today, and they look fantastic. Nothing, and I repeat nothing, on the lure market I've seen, or personally custom painted by anybody, looks like these lures do. How Dave captured the Goby color pattern so well baffles me, but I believe he did. I'll post all four color patterns for your viewing as soon as Dave sends me the final 4th color scheme. We still have a few months before the open water fishery. Plenty of time to lobby any near by outlets to stock some of these colors if there is no outlet near you. So will they work? That part of course is intimately up to the walleyes. But I'm confident they haven't seen anything like these (except the real thing) in their faces yet. Stay tuned, film at eleven.
