metro 2-9-05

[double trouble]

I had a few hours to kill so i spent a few hours kickin some perch a##.caught untold dinks on a glow genz worm and jensen egg or a perch jiggin rapala. (no bait). about 3-3.30 some bigger fish started moving in.caught about 8 or nine keepers but i had to leave at 4. i fished right off the beach at metro in about 3 foot of water .the water was cloudy so i moved in just enough so i could see the bottom.the fish would come as soon as i jigged the rapala, then i would pick them off with the genz worm.had a few hogs come through ,but was too busy shaking off the dinks and missed them. sometimes there would be 25 fish in the hole.it would be fun to take a kid there just for action.i would fish the evening from 3-6. there were some better fish available.i had to hit fish in the back with the lures so they would move off so the bigger fish could come in.dropping the worm on the bottom often provoked strikes.my neck is still sore from looking into the hole.saw some guys in the back basin . i wonder how they did? good luck. :fish: :fish: :fish:

One of my favorite things about icefishing is being able to watch the fish
and see how they react to the bait/lures.
I do this on some of the local inland lakes like Union and you can see
quite well at about 15 foot.
It's awsome to see a huge walleye or pike cruise underneath the shanty.
Haven't made it out to Metro yet, but I usually spend the last 3 weeks there each season.

Looks like I'll make that my plan B tommorow if cotten is sucken in the morning...

Glad to see some the fish are starting to show up around the lake!! Only going to get better!!!

D.T. try using something to big for the little dinks like a 4 inch shiner when a hog comes in to hit the shiner he won't get it but have a tear drop with a 1/2 sml. minnow and drop it in his face. he will hit it quick.
