As it is getting closer to the Saginaw Bay outing i was wondering how the ice is holding up and does it look like the fishing is picking up any.

I'm also interested in conditions from you guys that have been out. I was out Sunday (from Linwood) and wondered if conditions have changed much. I'm not really concerned with ice thickness, and pressure crack issues, but am wondering about the top of the ice. Is there much snow left on the ice? As of Sunday, once you got past the crack, there would be like 40 ft. of shear ice and then 20 ft. of snow drift. I'm trying to decide which trailer to go with. Thanks.

Was out today off Erickson. Ice at ramp and shore area was no good but its only a few feet of it. Nothing serious. Just drive through it and get on main trail and ride out. Ice on bay is fine. Cracks no problem. Water today in 23 ft was murky. Fish werent biting either :( Its ice fishing as usual. Am sure linwood area ramp and parking area on beach has to harden up also but wont take long. Hope we are still on for this weekend. Skeeter

It's still a go for Saturday Skeeter. Did'nt know you were going. Did you go straight out from Erickson Rd.?

went out from the dnr ramp at the mouth of the river and the ice was hard and a bit smoother was out by the west side of the island in 14 fow no fish . had 15 inches of ice and no slush at all. every thing should be in awsome shape for the bay outing.

Still plan on going and might also be bringing some possible new members with me. (1 or 3) Will have a burgundy crew cab 4x4 chevy with an old arctic cat on trailer.
