How has everyone been connecting their shanties? Specially if they are different sizes and different brands?

We do it quite a bit with a Shappel 4000 and 3000. Actually, we just line up the doors and flip the flaps to the outide. Then along the inside we clip the material with clothespins. Nothing fancy but it does the trick for us.

We have one buddy who will not conform to the Shappel way of thinking. His shanty door way is about 3" taller the the Shappel 3000 so we carry a towel to clothespin the gap.

i flip em so the holes are flip flopped... my shanty faces front the next guy back... then i fold the other shanty door into myn and tuck it behind the pole... and myn into theres and tuck it behind their pole... easy was for the shapelles and u dont need any extra hardwear. :D

My fishing buddy picked up a shappell 3000 a year or two back... when i got mine, i made sure to get a 3000 for just this purpose! when you get em tight together, its amazing how little heat you lose.. plus, its alot more room to move around! :)

We've hooked up to 4 shanties together, 3 3000s and 1 4000. The problems we have had is when one of guy's in the middle have to exit (to get a tip-up or what ever :p ), they need to go through another shanty to get out :yikes:.

That was alot of fun, when I had my Shappell. All you had to do was butt them up close and wrap your flaps around your buddies poles! LMAO, should be a line in a ice fishing porn movie. I have an Otter now and you can't really connect them. I did sit in the Fish Trap Guides connected at Gander,, that was pretty cool.

Wow, Southend! I had to do a double-take on that picture!! I thought sure it was of my setup with my buddies! That's exactly the way we look out there.

Like Woodsman Rick said, it's a bit of a pain when someone in the middle has to get out for some reason, but it is a nice way to share heat, roominess, and bs time with your buddies.

if ur lucky and know a seamstress... cut out a rear door and have her sew up a zipper in it for ya.... so u dont have to climb over every one... i realy considered doing this.

Our best has been 6 end to end for 3000 shapells. Now let me tell ya, get a, Ahhem, a bottle of cough supressant started at one end, and it is about gone by the time is makes it back to the beginning!

But I must say, it is impressive when you look down the tunnel and see 6 vexlars, 6 cameras, 6 heaters, and enough fishing equipement to open your own shop!

We use clothes pins and the black document clips to seal off the doors. Ya it can be a pain when the man in the middle needs to go out but you get used to it.

Some of my best memories are hooking the shanties together and having a great ol' time

I hook my 3000 up with my buddie's Eskimo quite a bit. The connection is suprisingly pretty solid, very little gaps. We use chip clips to seal things further...

You can hear the old lady complain 7 days a week! Wouldn't you want to hear a fishing story or two once in a while? Solo artists can always buy the clam.

Thanks for the input! Haddn't thought about wrapping the flaps around the other person's poles, we did the "push them out the back method". I'll have to buy ya a Schmohz some day.
