Reeds Lake 1-31-05

Fished Reeds Lake on Monday afternoon from 3:30 untill 6:30 or so. Iced about 9 keeper perch and threw back that many or more. All fish were caught in about 8 to 12 feet of water. Deeper water produced nothing. This is the second time I've had decent success at this depth and it must be where the fish are holding on the steeper dropoff in this area.

Iced all fish on spikes and waxies on tears/small jigs and a spike tipped Hali Jig. Got one larger perch on a minnow, only taker on a minnow all day. No flags, saw another guy ice a small hammerhandle and a bass. Still cannot find the gills, don't have the patience to explore for the crappie without a vex. Try to be out again later this week or weekend. Rob and Sid, I'll catch up with you guys one of these days :dizzy: :lol:

Years ago we used to fish gills off the second point on the south side of the lake. Since I moved to Indiana I have not fished Reeds much. Was out January 22 with my brother-in-law and picked up a few perch off the fire station. Too ugly a day to make the walk out to the point.
