I know that this isn't the snowmobile forum, but others ask questions about things not pertaining to ice fishing, so I thought I would too. I want to buy a sled to use for ice fishing, and want to know the pros and cons about carbs vs efi. Thanks in advance.

I don't know if I can be much help? I have had a ice fishing snow machine for about 30 years. I buy used and cheap. There are always a ton of good used machines around for between 300 and 1000 dollars I like the older machines, if I should be unlucky enough to lose one on the ice I'm not out a lot of money. I like either the Artic Cats or skiddos. If you take a good look on the ice you will see more of those in older models then any other brand. They seem to outlast the rest. I'm an old fart so I like electric start and reverse. I stick with the 440s because they will pull my fat butt and grear with out much trouble. anything smaller has to work to hard anything bigger is to fast and hard on fuel. I have only ever lost one machine a bunch of us parked on the edge of the sand beach wit our tracks still on the ice the wind came up in the night and four of the machines were gone with the ice, the water was open for about a mile out. we never did find those machines.

I had an old 1971 Ski Doo that i used on the ice for 20 years off and on. I recently picked up an Artic Cat (1998) that hopefully, will get me 20 years of service too. Those old sleds were horses.
