OK - now that I've tested this a few times and it seems to be actually working, I'll put it out here hoping that if you try it, you'll let me know if it works for you. Others may already do this.
When I'm fishing for panfish, I cut two holes a few feet apart. In hole one, I drop a buckshot rattle spoon with a larger (3") shiner. In hole two I drop what ever rig I'm planning to fish with, usually a small tear drop with a mousie, wax, spike or wiggler. When nothing is showing on the vex, I jig the rattlespoon a few times. This seems to bring the fish into the hole. I've fished next to other guys using the same bait and usually done a bit better. :16suspect
