Ok all you walleye guys,
I need some help catching a few hogs. I just discovered a lake where there are walleye and haven't really fished for them. I have fished the saginaw river for them only once and didn't have any luck. The lake is about 25' deep and there are many drop-offs dropping from 16' to 25'. I was just wondering what I should do to catch these tasty critters :corkysm55 ?
Any help would be appreciated. :help:

P.S. My buddy and I hammered crappie last night on this lake from 4pm until 6pm. As soon as I dropped my waxie to the bottom FISH ON! We only kept three, due to the rest were iffy. If they would have been a bit thicker we would have kept them. :corkysm55

Fishing for walleyes on inland lake can be tough. Down here in my area we can normal catch them in to places. First place is at the drop offs. I like to drill several hole along the drop offs some out past the drop off and some on top. And then I like the take the biggest jigging Rap. you can get like a 9 or 11 and then take about 10-15 min. rigging in each hole till I can find what depth they are at. Then concentrate on that depth. The second area is along weed edges. Find weed edge and drill holes along the edges with some in the weeds and some out of the weeds and then do the same thing, jig for about 10-15 min. in each hole. This is a few ways to find some eyes. You may also find them cruising flats. There is one lake I fish that the weed edge starts in 12 fow and then it will run flat at 12’ for 30-40 yards and then drops to 24 fow. Depending on the time of day I will start at the drop and then work the flats and by dark I’m working the weed edges.
