I would cross yhe crack about 1 to 2 more miles and target 23 ft. Or just cross it by approx. 300 yds. and follow it in a southerly direction for maybe a half mile to a mile. Depth is roughly 18 ft. in that direction.almost everyone is crossing the crack. Hope this helps and lets here how you did good or bad. Good-Luck

I fished the area tonight. The fish were every where last week. Now it seems you have to head out deeper. Might be because of all the traffic. I fished my normal holes at 2.75 miles out and the fish were gone. Myself and another friend tried in around 15 FOW, approx 200 yards inside of the crack. He saw no fish on his camera. He fished it until dark. Where I moved out to 18 FOW, about 300 yards past the crack. No fish there either. A guy out 3.0 miles did OK. At least he was catching fish.
I have a network of friends fishing right now and we all communicate. Seems like the last two days were tough. Best fish were coming in the mornings on spoons.
Things might be better in the morning since the traffic will be less during the week.
I would suggest go out as far as you can.
Ice is good in all directions from where we fished. I did go out of Linwood Saturday and some of the spots before the crack looked iffy. Lots of ice out there.

thanks for the info. had 3 walleye in sight on the aqua vu. caught 2 of the 3. the 3rd was a big fish. went straight out of linwood 1/4 mile past the crack in 18 ft of water. orange swedish pimple with a half a minnow worked great. any one else know how long the batteries last on the scout camera? mine only lasted 2 1/2 hours and it's brand new?

I heard the cameras are pretty hard on the batteries

One of the guys I fish with brings out two batteries. I would say he only got about 2.5 hours also on the first battery.
I fished with a guy tonight who runs his off a deep cycle boat battery. You have to see his setup though. He has a argo with a TV and camera hooked up. He can record what ever he views on his camera to tape. And if the fishing is slow he can pop a movie in!
His shanty is cut out to fit the back door on the argo. He attaches the shanyt to the back of the argo and thne opens the back door. His TV and camera swing out on motel TV bracket into the shanty.
We did not do well tonight. I did hear friends did well early this morning. I plan to fish the morning bite tomorrow for the first time this season. Most of the big fish are coming then.
Lots of people going out of Erickson tonight.

Are the cracks at linwood rd or any other easy to cross. I was up there last year on the inside of a crack. When 3 guys on quads on the other side drove up to me and ask where the could get back across. They said the follow some guys who had boards to cross in the morning. They left early and they didn't leave with them. Don't know how they got back. :fish:

pressure cracks off of linwood at 1-31-05 in the morning were solid. you can follow the tracks of all the wheelers to where they crossed. as always approach with caution as the bay can change daily.:)

Were good this morning also. Heading back out right now. Will report the fishing and ice or check the hardwater hawgs web site for up to date info posted by a team of guys who go out every day.

Saw a Little slush tonight around a crack in Linwood area.
Buddy was fishing Erickson road and everything was good there too.
I expect to see some water on the ice with the next few day's temps.
We got four fish tonight, my biggest was 8.65, all big fish. Weighed it at GM. Won't make the top 50 after tonight. Finally found the good fish.
