Well, for those of you who know what and where the 47's are on Saginaw Bay, you know it's a long way out. Myself and my ice fishing clients didn't start out for such reaches today, but like the (Energizer Bunny) I just kept going and going, feeling safe enough going from one trail to another and getting farther and farther away from the pack. I originally had planned to fish and was headed to a good spot of mine in the Black hole, but could not get on the other side of this menacing looking crack to get over to it, and soon found myself (south of) and past the Black Hole out in the Bay.

When we stopped it was in 26.5FOW. We set up the shanty and started fishing. This was actually pretty late in the morning, about 11:00am. What my FL-8 showed me/us was a constant procession of fish coming and going in the hole virtually all day. We lost 3 fish half way up by 3:00pm, but after that things got hot. We iced 9 beauties, one that would have placed pretty high in the Shiver On The River, if any of us would have been in it. I'd like to share more, but I have 3 more trips coming up in the next few days and want this spot to myself as long as I can. You already know I was in the 47's, that's about all I'll say for now.

Nope.

Old man winter put the kibosh to that three weekends in a row, and now I'm locked in with ice trips. Maybe next year or later this winter if things open up.

Like to also add what lures were hot today. Do-Jiggers Silver/Green Lightening bolt, Silver/Red and Blue lightening Bolt, (my own concoction) and took two fish on (dead Rod) with the Bigger Gems Worm and minnow (tail hooked).

hey dan, do you take reservations for next year's ice season? i've barely fished the bay and would like to see how to do it rather than fart around and learn by error (which is the norm for me).

Steve.

I'll take you this winter if you got the time. I try not to set my winter charters in stone, because of the weather variables. I have pleanty of weekday dates open, and quite a few weekend dates as well. I've taken guys the next day after they call, if the wind and weather is safe enough and they live close enough to make it.

The guy in the picture above, had paid me a deposit for the last three years and conditions canceled us every year except this one. He was happy we got to go this year. :chillin:
