View Full Version : Alderman Lake
Has anyone here ever fished Alderman Lake in Oakland County? its right off Harvey Lk Road. It's a small lake.. probably not more than 40 acres. I live just down the road from it and was wondering what species of fish it houses and if it would be worth fishing. Thanks!

Everyone tends to fish the north end of the lake in the small bay. Great lake for gills and crappie. Be very careful out there and take a spud. The lake is surrounded with cattails and the ice is always iffy close to them and there is a small creek that runs though it. Good luck if you go.

Hey Quiz, I haven't fished there since the 80's. We used to catch bluegills, nice size crappies, and bass. We always seamed to fish the back bay too. We set up tip-ups all around the lake and had a few flags trip but never brought anything up. If I recall correctly, there's a feeder creek on the East end of the main lake. We did well near there too. Had a few flags go off by the nearby point just West of there.

Assuming the ice is safe one of the best spots on Alderman is in the south bay. On the east side of the south bay there is a small stream(and I mean small/hard to see) that enters the lake about 100ft to the left of the point. The sediment flowing from the stream has made a shallow area that streches about 30 feet out into the lake. Drill a bunch of holes around the drop off and a bit further out from this area and you are almost certain to get some nice gills and specks. Good luck.
Thanks for all the input guys! I ended up hitting big lake instead, but like i said, i live right across the street from this lake so i might as well know where to fish on it :)
