Hess lake

Three of us went to Hess Lake this morning. They are doing a contast. Had motor cycle races on ice, folks going for a swim, chile cook off, raffels and the rest.

We fished and took home three limits of specks and gills. Got to love that VEXLAR! They may have sold some more today. Made some belivers.

Schaaed1, this was the best day so far over there, sorry you had to work. Guess I will have some to donate for our next outing.

Good job. I'll agree with you that the bite is on. Non stop action got to love it :D

I fished Hess on Thursday night and it seemed the bite was good for specks from around 8:00 pm till about 10:00 and then pretty much shut off. We fished from 10:00 till about 12:30 and had 6 specks between the 2 of us. Nice ones, (around 10") but still only 6!

Good to hear on the mess of fish. Between Hess and White Lakes ... what is that 3 or 4 days of liimits in a row? You keep going and you may have to donate some to my freezer as well!! :D

Schaaed1, you are right that is three days in a row. The water has been clearing up, guess that helps.

BigSid I will have to try it some evening and see what shakes out. Only have fished it during the day.

Gibby...We were out by the shanties in the middle and my cousin and his buddy took about 20 fish (mostly nice specks and a few smallish perch) between 8:00 and 10:00 or so. Then like I said, someone hit the switch when my buddy and I started! :mad: :lol: Give 'er a shot, I've done a heckuva lot better in the past!

I thought they did a nice festible (SP) there. I will come back. Had some good chile at the cook off. Where you out there when the planes made the touch and go and low pass? WOW Glad you didn't come back empty handed like some folks around me. Some wanted to know how we could catch so many. Did go to a small trebil when the bite got lite. Picked that tip off this site. That and the sewing thread it all helped. Headed back late this afternoon.
