Since I have decided to not only look at mathews and hoyt but to test out as many different bows as possible I would just like some opinions on bows that I should test shoot, money plays no role in which bow I buy, also I have heard that you can buy a bow in Canada and save a lot of money...any truth in that? And if so where is the closest place in Canada to go?

I have a buddy who consistently shoots cigerette butts at 20 yds with his Onieda. I also like the golden eagles with the natural grip, . I currently shoot a hoyt, but I am looking as well

I am just a beginner myself and went through the process of testing different bows. I feel most all of them put out some excellent bows but it just comes down to your own personal preference after the testing. Good luck and have fun!

Trushot, Is this the list of bows you have tried this year? :)

That was last year boys ;)
I took a year and shot everything I could to see what I liked.
Turns out....I like them all
Actually I'm sticking with Archery Research. I have a Bowtech Black Night and Pearson Feedom Pro (Stars and Stripes) up for sale right now...going to buy another AR. 34 ram.5 Blade Target colors and maybe a 31 as well but prolly just stick with the 2.
Of all the bows I've owned and shot... I shoot the AR the best. Now I need to get competitive and I can't do that switching bows every other day ;)

If you can find one look at CSS. I had a CSS swampmaster for a year, and I now have a bowtech. I think that CSS was no doubt the smoothest bow I have ever owned. That bow felt like I was pulling back about 60 lbs when it was set at 70lbs.
I'm even thinking about trading back to CSS myself. Very quiet too!
Just an idea, if you have not shot much, dont get caught up in which bow is the fastest. If you do, you will find out the hard way, that they can be more a hassel than they are worth! Oh ya, don't tell the pro shops money isn't an issue!! They sell bows for a living. I'm not saying anything bad about them, but they are salesman, and they do have quotas!! Good luck, let us know what you get.

SO the AR is really that good?
I thought for sure you would have an 05 bowtech in your lineup.
The Diamond 2 cam looks pretty hot too.

Be patient and shoot as many bows as you can before buying. But one point to consider is if for some reason you want or need to sell the bow at a later time, you'll be able to unload bows such as Hoyt & Mathews alot easier and usually without losing too much $$ in the process. Just check Ebay sometime and see which bows are selling.

I would have to agree on AR . The AR-34 is the best bow I have ever held in my hand so far . I like the low wrist grip ,or lack of grip .:)
I'll see how the Whisper Creek does when I test it . I'm anxious to shoot it .

SO the AR is really that good?
For me...yes.
I'd have a Bowtech or 3 but the draw would take some getting used to and I don't want to wait anymore....I want to shoot and I want higher scores so I'm hunkering down.
I'm still curious about the Whisper Creek though too Tn. Be sure to let me know what you think when you get it.

AHHHHAAAA,good on ya richie, you learn fast.virtually every manufacture out there is making some really good bows ignore all the hoopla, you can't tell the difference in 280fps and 300 fps without a cronograph, andi rarely see those in the woods. the most important factor in selecting a bow for virtually every sportsman,,,,, does it feel good? does it make you feel like you can hit what your shooting at? and you can find someone to answer yes to that question for every bow out there.

I responed to a post simialar to this not to long ago, I was in the same situation this last spring. Wanted to update my equipment, so I went down to Hog Wild Archery were Howard is great guy and he set up almost ever brand bow that he carries and I shot them all in my price range. I am talking between $300-$600. I shot about ten different manufactures. With alot of dilberation between a Martin and Bowtech I went with the Bowtech. Reason for the deleberation was the $. But after taking the Bowtech outside and was rubbing arrow at 15yrds no sights and with a lifetime no question warrenty it was settled. The Bowtech Justice was the answer for me for an upgrade.
So, all that I can say is was everybody is saying shoot as many bows and manufacturer as you can get your hands. Pick the one the feel right the key is feel not what everybody else tells you. It is what you will be shooting and hunting with so decide on your own opion and feel.
Good Luck and Have fun Shopping

don't forget to look at Darton, great bow for the price I have used them for all of my bow hunting career, and will probably buy another, not to say I won't look aroung was thinking about a hoyt them shot a couple more different dartons and said why change a good thing they got some real good new bows and hoyt uses some of their patents on the New hoyts, Dartons, and Bear bows were probably the first bows many of the bowhunters in Mich started with, great service and they are located right here in hale Michigan,,, so if You did have a problem you could drive to the factory and get it fixed without shipping it away.
just My opinion, just don't forget to take a look at them.
