Finally, there is a way to make bass taste good! A buddy of my dad's told him to soak them in milk overnight in the refrigerator and deep fry them in the morning for breakfast. Well dad tried it this weekend and the results were awesome! The milk firmed up the meat and got rid of almost all of the fishy flavor. It wasn't quite as good as the bluegill fillets that went along with it but it was definately worth while. Big Al

Yeah I ussualy dont keep bass unless there bleeding alot and arent gonna make it or they float belly up but I have also heard of the milk trick and it works pretty good.

I've never tried it, but my cousin swears by soaking them in 7-up overnight.

the milk works well on lake trout also. it pulls the oils out and makes the fish not as greasy when it is cooked or smoked.
