Looking for general fish information on Black Lake. We are staying at a buddies house Feb 12th weekend and on the south west side of the lake I think somewhere near Mud lake area on BLack Lake though. We are planning on going right out from his house so I'm wondering what that side holds, depths to look for and best method to use. Basically will want to target walleye and panfish! Looking for general info. please PM if neccessary. Thanks.

We wen't up to Black Lake over the MLK weekend. We went out of a buddies house on the south west side of the lake. Conditions were horrible but plenty of ice. It was really windy and cold and it was difficult to man the portable shanties. We picked up a walleye and and some small perch but that was in a limited amount of time fishing.
We picked up most of our fish in the 18 to 25 feet of water range. To many dinks in the shallows. You want to fish in front of five mile point. There is a big drop off that goes from about 4 feet to about 20 feet. Try and find that ledge. That's were the eyes hang out.

Good luck and I hope this helps
