Boundry Waters Trip

I'm going to be taking a trip to MN to the boundry waters and will be primarily hitting Basswood Lake. I will be there the 2nd week in June 05. Anyone out there have any stories to tell about this lake? I'm always interested in feedback from the members of this site.

Boundary waters hold some of the best memories of my life. I used to make a lot of trips there. Getting way back in there after numerous portages, seeing two other canoes during a week in the wilds, catching smallies till your arms are going to fall off......Have fun!

I don't remember what lake they camped at, they fished several different lakes.

The walleye weren't biting, normal for that time of year, the locals said. But the pike were-they caught a lot of big pike with 20 pound line and big bobbers with big minnows they caught in the lake. Another technique that was shown to them by locals. One pike was over 10 pounds.

Lots of bugs-take lots of bug spray.
